About the exhibition
Dear Belly: Food Stories from Liverpool is an exhibition that showcases artworks that explore the rich connections between food, culture and community through art, storytelling and shared experience. Food is something we all share, it brings us together, sparks conversation, and often holds our most treasured stories. Dear Belly invites you to reflect upon the food and agricultural practices that deeply embedded in our local area and greater Western Sydney.
Drawing from Liverpool's reputation as one of New South Wales' most culturally vibrant food destinations, this exhibition first transformed the Switch Gallery at Liverpool Powerhouse and will now transform the Yellamundie Art Gallery at Liverpool City Library into a creative feast filled with art that will stimulate the senses.
Dear Belly at Yellamundie Art Gallery will also give you the opportunity to collect a Food Map of Liverpool illustrated by Amy Golbach with front cover design by Rainer Ciar and Liverpool City Council. Try out some of the great places to eat in the Liverpool LGA. You can also download a free digital copy here:Liverpool Food Map - Download
Dear Belly invites you into the kitchens of Liverpool, where food is more than just sustenance - its a way of connecting.
